Related Work Experience
Lead Developer – Ontological Discovery Environment
Oak Ridge, TN – January 2006 to Present
- Designed interface to allow allow remote scientists to upload, share, and analyze gene-centered phenotypic data in a web-based environment.
- Integrated data across multiple databases, species, and experiment.
- Built real-time analysis tools for cross-species comparison of any gene sets stored in the database.
Lead Programmer – MindFull Research Informatics
Waco, TX – June 2004 to July 2005
- Collaborated with a team of four people to design and complete the merging and cross-referencing of multiple public biology databases:
LocusLink(Entrez), Swissprot, HomoloGene, UniGene, Gene Ontology, Mouse Gene Project, Rat Gene Database, PubMed. - Worked with a private lab to add experimental data to database for quick and easy access to relevant information.
- Designed and implemented a Java client to access the database using scalable, modular, and flexible code along with the ability to quickly search the quarter of a million rows with user-defined queries.
